Guests at Orpheus Island Resort can enjoy our Great Barrier Reef tours to further explore the Reef. Options such as an outer reef trip, or your own personal scenic flight by seaplane charter, allow you to get closer to the action.

Outer Reef Dive & Snorkel Excursion

Duration - Full Day

Embark on a full day trip to the outer barrier reef for a sensational day on the water. Enjoy an unforgettable experience which can include two guided dives discovering a myriad of marine life, the opportunity to swim and snorkel, and lounge in the sun while been tempted by a fabulous smorgasbord lunch. This trip is conducted by a private charter vessel operator.

Three Island Cruise

Duration - 3 hours (+ additional time if guests choose to snorkel along the way)

Prepare to relax onboard "Orpheus" as we cruise along the face of Orpheus Island, around past Fantome Island and then over to Curacoa Island before returning along the seaward side (weather dependant).  You will sight and learn the history of many landmarks, including Leper Bay, Eagle Pinnacle, Catalina Passage, South Beach and Yanks Jetty.  Often, if conditions allow, the old Catalina Flying Plane ruins are visible - washed up on the beach of one of the unnamed bays on Palm Island.  Take the opportunity to experience a snorkel or cook dip in the ocean at one of our many prime snorkelling destinations, as suggested by your guide.

Local Island or Outer Barrier Reef Fishing Trips

Duration - Full or half day

Half or full day fishing charters can also be arranged upon request. Fishing charters can be a combination of bottom line, light tackle or heavy tackle fishing. A day of fishing in a fully equipped vessel with its experienced and qualified crew is guaranteed to grab you hook, line and sinker.

Scenic Flights

From our seaplane or helicopter, take a bird's eye view of the Palm Island Group, the Great Barrier Reef and Hinchinbrook Island. Your pilot will introduce you to these natural wonders of the world and provide you with informative information and history.

Sunset Cruise

Duration - 1½ hour

A perfect way to end an awesome Orpheus day. Enjoy a hosted cruise out into Hazard Bay to witness the sun setting over the Australian coastline. Relax and unwind as you are served pre-dinner nibbles and sip endless glasses of champagne .. The ultimate romantic indulgence!
Price: $45 per person all inclusive.
