Orpheus Island set in the heart of the world’s natural wonders, the Great Barrier Reef, is pleased to welcome Tony Barradale to the team as General Manager. He joins the list of hospitality professionals who come to Orpheus to provide exemplary service and a unique personal touch to guests from all corners of the globe.

With over fifteen years experience in the tourism and leisure industry in Australia and overseas, Tony is a personable and brings extensive management and exceptional operational experience to the idyllic island.

Prior to coming on board at Orpheus, Tony held esteemed positions with premium tourism operators including Hilton Worldwide, InterContinental Hotels Group, Federal Group and Voyages Hotels & Resorts. “As one who personally enjoys and appreciates first-class destinations, the opportunity to have the responsibility to take Orpheus forward to new levels in a private island resort experience is a career highlight.”

From operating premium resorts in Tasmania and Queensland’s Whitsundays to developing the concept and design for a world-class private resort in Indonesia, Tony’s experience and knowledge is second-to-none.

Committed to the delivery of superior service, Tony promises to make each and every guest’s experience on Orpheus a memorable one. Accommodating just 34 guests at any time; Orpheus offers a bespoke personalised service and absolute seclusion and serenity. Perfect as a holiday destination, a picturesque wedding setting, or booked in its entirety for exclusive use, Orpheus is a one-of-a-kind island of exceptional beauty.

Unlike other islands, Orpheus offers guests a plethora of once in a lifetime experiences; be it a fishing trip where the day’s catch is grilled on an open fire on a nearby cove or taking a dinghy and chef-prepared gourmet picnic hamper and discovering the many pristine bays and reefs that fringe Orpheus. The food is a standout, with Head Chef Arie Prabowo (who trained under the esteemed Cheong Liew) serving a delicious array of fresh local produce and seafood collected straight from the Coral Sea. Alternatively, it provides the perfect backdrop for a more private and quieter interlude if guests wish to shut off from the outside world.

Throughout his career, Tony has garnered an extraordinary depth of knowledge and expertise, ideally positioning him to head up Orpheus. A well-respected professional in his field, Tony is a wonderful addition to the team who looks forward to the challenge when the island re-opens on 18 March 2013 (post-wet season).
