Following extensive refurbishment, phase one Orpheus opens early October. To help
celebrate this occasion, Orpheus welcomes highly acclaimed and award-winning chef
Cheong Liew (OAM) to the island.
Known as Australia's 'Father of Fusion,' Cheong Liew is renowned for creating dishes
with many cultural tiers. With a cunning wizardry that enables him to blend world
cuisines with his Malaysian heritage, Cheong's techniques and ingredients have come
to typify 'Modern Australian' cuisine.
'With 'seasonality' being the foundation of my cooking, the daily-changing menu
on Orpheus showcases the riches of the region by honouring a bounty of locally sourced
and seasonally fresh ingredients' says Cheong.
Best suited to the island's tropical climate, Cheong has developed a light, contemporary
and refreshing menu which will stimulate the mind and excite the palate. Alternatively,
guests can consult Cheong to tailor an epicurean adventure specific to their tastes
and dietary requirements.
Orpheus welcomes Cheong Liew from October 12th to November 7th 2011. Accommodating
just forty indulged guests at any one time, guests will be taken on an intimate
culinary journey with Cheong.
