Hotel Booking Conditions

Bookings, cancellations, amendments and charges

All reservations must be guaranteed at time of booking with a credit card. A 20% deposit of the total booking (accommodation and helicopter transfers) is charged at the time of booking and full payment must be made at least thirty (30) days prior to check-in date.  Such amounts may be forfeited in the event of cancellation, amendment or failure to check in on the specified date, in accordance with the terms shown below. All Visa / MasterCard transactions will incur a 1.5% surcharge, AMEX will incur a 2.6% surcharge. This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

Any cancellations made 61 days or more prior to arrival; nil cancellation fee applies.

Any cancellations made 60 – 31 days prior to arrival; a 25% cancellation fee applies (accommodation and helicopter transfers).

Any cancellations made 30 – 0 days prior to arrival; 100% cancellation fee applies (accommodation and helicopter transfers).

All cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellation fees will be applied from date of written notification being received.

Should any cancellations be a package, further cancellation charges or administration fees may be applicable for components within the package that Orpheus Island is liable for.

All Visa / MasterCard / AMEX transaction fees are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

All charter activity and helicopter transfer pricing is subject to change with 30 days’ notice.

Hotel Regulations

All indoor areas, including suites and public spaces, of Orpheus Island Lodge are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is permitted in outdoor areas of the suites and the resort. Pets may not be brought onto the premises with the exception of guide dogs. Guests shall comply with all rules, regulations and instructions at Orpheus Island Lodge, including but not limited to security procedures, health and safety procedures and registration requirements.

Orpheus Island Lodge shall be entitled to refuse a guest entry or accommodation or to require a guest to leave the premises if unreasonable behaviour is displayed, be it threatening or abusive, causing disturbance to other guests or otherwise unacceptable. A safe is available in each room for the storage of valuables as a service to guests; however Orpheus Island Lodge will not accept liability for loss or damage to those items.

Limitation of liability

Orpheus Island Lodge strongly recommends that guests take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. Although all care is taken, Orpheus cannot accept responsibility for uncontrolled weather, cancellations, personal injury or illness.

Orpheus Island Lodge shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to a guest’s property which is:

caused or contributed to by the negligence of the guest or a reason of the type listed in the preceding paragraph; or
not promptly reported to Orpheus Island Lodge on discovery Orpheus Island Lodge shall not be liable for loss of or damage to a guest’s property except when proved to be caused through the negligence or willful misconduct of Orpheus Island Lodge.
Guests shall be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury they may cause at Orpheus Island Lodge.

Orpheus Island Lodge will engage Nautilus Aviation to coordinate and provide transfer services. Guests are also subject to Nautilus Aviation’s specific terms and conditions

Helicopter Luggage Restrictions

Due to safety requirements and space restrictions on the helicopters, all passengers are restricted to a maximum of 15kg baggage allowance in total per person. Your 15kgs includes all handbags, camera bags and luggage, with all baggage weighed at check in. Soft duffle or cabin bags are required as they are able to fit in the helicopter boot (no hard base or suitcases please). Due to space limitations please do not bring one large bag between 2 guests. In some instances, the pilot may ask you to re-pack into a supplied soft duffle bag if your luggage is too large. Rest assured, we can securely store any of your excess luggage or hard cases at our hangar for pick up on your return trip. To assist, Orpheus Island offer a complimentary laundry service for all our guests while staying on the island (dry cleaning is not available).

Excess baggage

Please be advised that the carriage of excess baggage cannot be guaranteed due to aircraft availability and payload limitations. Any excess baggage that can be carried will incur additional excess fees payable at check in, ranging from AUD $580 – $1,410 per person. In special circumstances a Private Charter may be required at an additional cost.
