We are honoured to share that Orpheus Island Lodge has been named among Robb Report’s 50 Greatest Luxury Hotels on Earth in 2026, alongside our sister property, Mt Mulligan Lodge.
It is a recognition that means a great deal to us, not simply because of the company we are privileged to keep, but because it acknowledges the qualities that make Orpheus so distinctive: its remarkable setting on the Great Barrier Reef, its intimate scale and the care our team brings to every guest stay.
Robb Report’s annual list is informed by 25 luxury travel specialists who identify properties setting a benchmark for exceptional travel. Robb Report Campaign.docx For Orpheus, inclusion is a proud reflection of the island itself, the guests who return year after year and our team, whose warmth, knowledge and attention to detail shape every stay.
Orpheus is a place where the natural world sets the rhythm. With just 14 rooms, suites and villas, and a maximum of 28 guests at any one time, the experience remains deeply personal. Days might begin in the clear waters of the Coral Sea, unfold over a long lunch by the water and end beneath a night sky filled with stars.
The Lodge is surrounded by pristine fringing reef, sunlit beaches and more than 1,000 hectares of national park. It is a rare setting that invites guests to slow down, explore freely and experience the reef in a more private and considered way.
The recognition also arrives at an exciting time for the Lodge, following the reimagining of our North Beachfront Rooms, Suites and Villas by acclaimed Australian architecture and interior studio Dubois. These renewed spaces bring an even stronger connection to the island’s landscape and the Coral Sea beyond.
